KY 59 resurfacing project starts in Lewis County
Expect lane closures, delays

FLEMINGSBURG , Ky. – New blacktop is coming to KY 59 in Lewis County .

Contractors began milling, or the removal of old asphalt, and road shoulder work today, Monday, July 14, on a five-mile section of Olive Hill-Vanceburg Road from KY 344 north to KY 9.

Full paving operations should be under way later this week. The project could take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting. Mountain Enterprises Inc. was awarded a $349,930.88 contract for the resurfacing work.

During construction, lane closures and delays are likely. Motorists should Drive Smart in work zones, and watch for warning signs and flaggers.
