▪ New traffic signal installed in 2005 at the Tanner / Global intersection is constructed per these plans; no pole relocations will be required.
▪ At Tanner / Global intersection the 5 lane section reduces to 3 lanes on the north leg of the intersection.
▪ The KY 237 entrances to Flick’s and Rempke’s developments shall be modified to RT-In/RT-Out.
▪ Just north of the LT turn lane provided to SB KY 237 at Tanner / Global, a raised grass median to be provided. Raised grass median continues to north of Graves Road.
▪ At Cardinal Way the s-curve shall be eliminated. KY 237 shall continue northwards on a relatively straight alignment, meeting the original alignment of KY 237 north of Graves Road. A cul-de-sac is to be constructed on the southerly portion of the “disconnected” KY 237. Those residents shall be routed to the Graves Road intersection.
▪ A Park and Ride facility is to be constructed across from Cardinal Way.
▪ A Roundabout is to be constructed at the intersection of Cardinal Way and the Park and Ride facility. One of the advantages of the roundabout at this location is that it will serve as a “gateway” to the residential area.
▪ The Cardinal Way roundabout will be designed to permit the truck drivers who have gone astray, to turn around and return to I-275.
▪ Graves Road will be constructed on a new alignment, with the existing portion remaining to provide access to the residences facing Graves Road.
▪ A Roundabout is to be constructed at the new intersection with Graves Road.
▪ A short s-curve is incorporated in the SB KY 237 lane as it approaches the Roundabout. This is a safety measure to encourage drivers to slow down prior to entering the roundabout
▪ The Roundabouts offer reduction of conflict points from 32 to 8, thereby: significantly increasing safety. Roundabouts also provide traffic calming by requiring traffic to reduce speeds.
